Mr. Samuel Franklin Minton, of Sharpsburg, GA passed away on April 25, 2017. He was born in Canton, GA in 1921 and moved to East Point, GA at the age of 6. He lived in East Point for over 45 years. In his later years, he moved to Sharpsburg, GA. He was a pipeline contractor and after retirement, he opened a Captain Billy's Restaurant in Warm Springs, GA. He was loved by many and passed away peacefully at Southwest Christian Care Hospice.

Mr. Samuel Franklin Minton, of Sharpsburg, GA passed away on April 25, 2017. He was born in Canton, GA in 1921 and moved to East Point, GA at the age of 6. He lived in East Point for over 45 years. In his later years, he moved to Sharpsburg, GA. He was a pipeline contractor and after retirement, he opened a Captain Billy's Restaurant in Warm Springs, GA. He was loved by many and passed away peacefully at Southwest Christian Care Hospice.

He was preceded in death by the mother of his children, Margaret Ramey Minton. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 18 years, Marjorie Orth Minton; and by his oldest son, Jerry Lee Minton.

He is survived by his sons Ronald F. Minton and William Orth (Kathy); daughters, Vickie Minton Whitehead (Jerry), Diann Russell, and Lynne Simpson. He was a loving father, grandfather; and great-grandfather to many.

A memorial service will be held at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in College Park, GA on Sunday, April 21, 2017 at 2:00pm with Bobby Allford officiating.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to Southwest Christian Care Hospice.
